Asset Creation (Wall Torch)


One thing that occurred to me when playtesting the game is that the settings lacks lighting and I may have resulted in putting a lot of candles around the environment and I thought to myself that the wall is looking a bit empty. So I made space and measured properly so I know how big an additional light will work on some areas. And this is where I have the idea of making a torch with medieval/fantasy aesthetic.

Though some of the procedures are not new and have its similarities with other assets, the only feature that I want to highlight within this creation is the intention of using the modifier solidify to my advantage. This allows me to create more freedom to shape the contours of the torch with more flexibility and later applying the effect to finalize the look of the object.

Then for the final touch, I also added particle systems to create the "flame" and "scorching" effect of torches and this works properly with the right setting I did for the in-game camera.
